Shrimp BoilWe attended the ever popular Activities Committee Shrimp Boil that was held at the Club House yesterday.  The executive chef was Bill Duncan and his assistant chef’s were Jim Smith and Ted Weeks.

The food was delicious and included lots of shrimp (spicy and mild), cocktail sauce (spicy and mild), potatoes, silver corn, cookies and ice cream and many residents went through the line again for second helpings.

The Shrimp Boil is always a very nice event since it’s very informal, fun, the food’s delicious and there’s more than enough to eat.

Thanks to Sue Huff, Bill Duncan, Carol Ann Braun and everyone else who helped with this event – it was super!

Well this year I saved $10. Last year I paid and forgot the date, this year I forgot to sign up. Uh oh, I hope this isn’t a symptom of anything.

Really terrific photo’s. To see them in color and with the resolution they have is great. If you need an Editor, I know a great one who may be available.

Great feast, as usual. I couldn’t tell which was better, the corn or shrimp. Both were great. My compliments to the cooks and thanks to all the workers.

LOL, I think Ginny was holding an auction? :)

Love the pix of Joanne Matthews and Ginny Cook. Joanne looks bored because she has no customers and Ginny looks like she’s calling one and all to pick up some corn. Good pix, Sandra. Not too many backsides. And I suppose the two guys in the background were watching the Derby on the TV. Something for everyone. Those guys sure do know how to cook. I have trouble getting everything ready on time just for the family. Good job, as usual.

I love the pictures. I know I had a good time. I heard many people say the shrimp was cooked and served at just the perfect time, and the corn, having just been picked that morning, was excellent. Thanks to all the volunteers , both cookers and kitchen help that made the event hum right along. We sure wouldn’t have much going on here in the cove without you!!!

    Sandra,
Great pictures! They are so clear! The chefs did a really wonderful job. It was hot work out in 90 degrees with hot cookers throwing more heat. Thanks for your kudos. Joanne

Dang, as editor I was probably one of the first to know about special events and then I’d forget to sign up. Bummer. Can’t imagine anyone not having a good time, Jenny. All that food and visiting with your neighbors, what’s not to like?

Hi Sandra, Thank you for the blog and pictures on the Shrimp Boil. It’s grrreat! (OOOPS! I think I just dated myself?) Hey attendees, did ya have a good time?
