In a few days our new fob system will go into affect. At the present time the plan calls for the clubhouse to be accessible while the Activities Director is in the building; at other times security will have to be called to gain access.

I would like to suggest that the Board try allowing access through the fobs between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., which are the same hours as there is a pool attendant at the pool. The fob will allow for identification of all who enter and the time they go into the building. If there is theft or vandalism, the system should allow us to identify the possible culprit(s).

In addition, could we not require that the person when leaving the building again, swipe there card, thus making time of entry and departure part of the record?

We all pay for this facility, why shouldn’t we have more use of it? Allowing entry by the fob at these hours will also decrease calls to security to let people in, saving
mileage on the truck and gas. Let’s try this for a limited time, a month or
so, to see if it works. If it doesn’t we can always go back to the original plan. What is your opinion?

  1. David Danson says:

Ron, I have reason to believe that there is hope that changes in acess to the Club House will be forthcoming in the reasonable near future. You should join us for Sushi, some of the best brains in the Cove enjoy it everyother Monday. If food were meant to be eaten cooked, it would have been “invented” that way. Also, I understand that today, “Green” is good, and look at all the energy saved by eating Sushi. Incidently, the cheap stuff I get at the Buffets is not raw, most of it is cooked fish. Sushi is not raw, it is all the names that I would not even try to spell that is raw fish

    Mr. Danson,
You should have mentioned this subject and discussion on Sally’s subsequent related discussion and established your foresight on the matter. I can only assume that no one chose to take any actions based on this discussion(?)

Again I appreciate the depth of your knowledge about matters related to the Cove. I can only assume that the brain eating worms that people contract from eating sushi and other raw seafood have not done any significant damage as yet.

Property Owners should have access to the Bayside Clubhouse without calling Security between 7 a.m. and midnight by using their fob. I agree with Sally’s comment about calling Security after 2 p.m. to gain access to the Clubhouse. Two groups play cards every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. till about ten p.m.or later. The only time Security should be called is when these groups end their activity for the evening. There are other goups holding activities almost every evening and they should not have to call Security for access to the building. Property Owners have every right to use the Clubhouse for their enjoyment as long as there is no abuse of the properties and any activities keep everything neat 7 tidy.

I don’t know that much about the accuracy and reliability of our fob system. If its functional methodolgy is the same or similar to that of Realtors(c) keypad systems which I carried for years, you should be reasonably safe with individual access.

Of course any system is subject to abuse… break a window and all bets are off.

  5. Sally says:

Sorry, Michael, twice. It was in the June Update. The RV Clubhouse is open 7 to 10 p.m. with the bathrooms and laundry room open 24/7.

  6. Michael Burton says:

I believe only the bathroom and Laundry room are open 24/7 at the RV Clubhouse. The other is not accessable other than from 7AM to 8PM or something like that. I think the times were listed in the May Update, but I’ve been wrong before (once).

  7. Sally says:

If the building is available Mon.-Thurs. 8-2 and you have to call Security the rest of the time, why have fob access at all? Seems like a waste of money to me. Yet the RV Clubhouse is available to all 24/7, right?

  8. Dale Morsette says:

I believe that we should have access 24 hours a day. The fob identifies anyone entering. Security could make a quick walk through periodically so that if anything significant is missing it could be narrowed down to a time frame.
I don’t believe we have anything of such value in the clubhouses that it justifies the limitation of accessibility. I think the pool would need to be kept inaccessible for safety reasons (unless it is a night of clothing optional swimming of course).
This is not a major concern for me as Security is quick to respond and pleasant to deal with. I would just rather be treated as an adult.
