The National Weather Service in cooperation with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency created this very informative, important, book to draw attention to the threat of hurricanes. Contents include 2009 hurricane names, hurricane history, hurricane forecasting, preparing for the storm, zones, evacuation map and who to contact for more information. The booklet is available for download in the Cove Connections ‘Documents’ section at the top of this page.
For those of you who haven’t experienced a hurricane before below is a small slideshow of Hurricane Ivan 2004 ‘before and after’ pictures and a You Tube video of the weather. The weather in the video is mild compared to the other Ivan videos I’ve seen and Cove Connections doesn’t, in any way, endorse riding hurricanes out.
