JP: I’m certain that none of your comments or responses were purposely blocked unless they violated one of the very few rules about content – I think cussing and a few others. Dave noted above that missing emails were due to software problems, not editing. I don’t know the details, but I do know the people.
Ron: #12 Ben has a dry wit. I wouldn’t read anything negative in his comment. And he is very direct, if he had a problem I think it would be addressed head-on. I’ve mentioned before how much I’ve enjoyed your input and look forward to 66 more.
To #8: Ben, that is correct, Ben. It should be 66. Do you have a problem with that? A considerable number of my comments have been in direct response to
questions posed to me by others in this blog.
I would encourage the people here to email me directly if you would like me to respond to a question. Apparently Ben has a problem with my participation since he has previously made at least one oblique disparaging remark on the subject.
I am not forced to read what is on here. I actually have laid off reading this until a friend of mine told me of some of the things that were being said. This is different then just emailing people. This information is on here for the whole world to see. There are aspects of this website that are good and helpful. But, when this first started, I had several postings disappear. I had no pre warning, no discussion and I do have a legitimate email address and have never ever had anyone send me a message about deleting my information. That is what upsets me. Other people can say whatever they like but when I got down to the nitty gritty, my stuff was eliminated from the race.
At this point, whatever, Who cares. I still have no one twisting my arm to write what I am writing. I just want everyone who reads this blog to remember that there are TWO sides to Every story. And when we were all working full time, were any of us perfect? Or got fired? Or went by the rules all the way? I think it’s hard enough to have to work and support a family, but to add hundreds of
cranky people to the mix, WoW!
Ron, your “disappearing remarks” were discussed at our meeting. The problem was a software one, not an action taken by anyone. I know I mentioned that I had experienced a similar proble,, which I thought was caused by my including a link in my posting. Nope, it was the ole software error. I suggest that if anyone has a problem they send an e-mail to Sandra and Sally so that they can look into it.
I think there is a lot more good than bad on this site.. The polls alone are interesting and helps to show how “some topics” are viewed. The work that goes into this Blog is great and I for one enjoy it greatly. No one is required to read it or to commit on the Blog topics, the choice is yours.

I agree I have seen comments show up then suddenly removed as well as one of my own. Dave, you do not know all! Things happen that you are totally unaware of. That is why I no longer comment on this site. I monitor this site just to see what a certain controling group of this site is trying to stir up next.
When one group is ousted another group tries to fill the void. One group may not be any better than the other. So, we will see if this comment is deleted now!
Dave, sounds good but I have had responses removed on the basis that they were too political in nature. I felt that my comments were in fair and appropriate responses to comments that I felt were equally political. I realize that a forum such as this must have a gate keeper and over all Sandra performs that function in an excellent manner. Any function of that sort will always be subjective as is always the case. In the last two days I have written comments that simply disappeared as soon as I hit the Submit Comment button. In the past when I include a link my comments can remain in the status of Awaiting Moderation for days. Thus I very seldom any longer include links.
The last two circumstances described I assume are due to software glitches at the website.
JP, as one of the “founding fathers” of CC I have to take exception to what you say about deleted messages. The entire concept of CC is to allow unedited conversation and comments. Editing was discussed at our last “monthly meeting” Only comments which appear to include libelous comments are even considered for editing, and if my old mind is not failing me I believe plan is to notify those whose remarks have been edited. The fact that your comment appears on the blog should be proof enough of that. Discussion, or remarks, concerning Sally are coming from residents such as yourself. You feel it should be over with, obviously they do not. If their comments were to be edited out, we would be guilty of doing what you accused CC of in your remarks. As an open forum, CC welcomes all responsible comments and opinions. That is what freedom of speech is about. I agree with you about the work that Gretchen does, and I don’t think I have seen comments looking for her to be fired. She, Paul Hogan, and the office staff put a great effort into making life in the Cove what it is….wonderful, however there is never anything wrong with constructive criticism. We all can learn from others thoughts. I know I do.

I have had quite a few messages deleted. “They” like to monitor what is on here and if it is against “Them”, They will remove it.
Sally’s problem should have been done and burried. She felt like she could do or say whatever she wanted and have no consequences. Yes she is a good person but she is not a God. I’m sure she would be good at other jobs as refered to in the section under pool whatever, but to put someone on such a tall pedalstool, must make her feel like a queen.
This site as become alot of peoples obsession. More dirt, more dirt, who can we piss off today!! Can we get Gretchen fired? She is probablly one of the hardest woking team members in spanish cove. Maybe we ought to start thanking the people that work for us. They have a pretty tough job listening to all of ya’ll complaining all the time!
